It depends on what you want.

If you want very natural photographs that feature you, being yourself naturally, then available light candids may be perfect. Posing and lighting usually distract the subject. By using mostly available light and a minimum of additional equipment, this frees both the photographer and the subjects from having to work with special lights and props. Since the€ lights we use are the very same lights you live with, the photographic environment is your environment. The last obstacle to a relaxed and natural photograph, specially with kids, is making subjects pose for the camera. By shooting candids, we bypass that obstacle. Now we capture the subjects free of the lighting and posing problems that distract them.
